Camping Programs at Gold Hollow / Lake Vera

Camp Gold Hollow is an overnight resident camp serving children ages 6-18, located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains near Nevada City, California - the heart of gold country.  Founded in 1944, it is owned and operated by the Golden Empire Council of Camp Fire Boys and Girls, a national organization for youth development which was founded in 1910 as a girl’s organization and welcomed boys to join in 1975.

Nestled in a pine forest on the edge of a private lake fed by two mountain streams, Camp Gold Hollow offers swimming and water play, canoeing, hiking, archery, cookouts, outdoor living skills, leadership training, nature and ecology, arts and crafts, performances and drama, singing, and an opportunity to sleep out under the stars and develop life-long friendships.
